Aislinn is my computer personality. However, I have also used the
names Leela and Wisteria.
I changed my name each time because I decided I hated my personality and
wanted to be somebody different. That is an impossibility in real
life, but the Internet is real life intertwined with Internet life.
Therefore with a change of name I could portray myself as somebody different.
It may seem ridiculous because of course my very own personality always
showed through. It is easy to be myself when I am not face to face
with the one or many I am conversing with. No personality change
for me, but perhaps something different was all I needed.
My hometown is
Juneau, Alaska, and even though I do not live there right now,
it will always be my home. I have lived in Juneau all my eighteen years
of existence and I love it. Last May I graduated from Juneau-Douglas
High School and am now attending Southern
California College in Costa Mesa,
CA, near the infamous Disneyland.
I have not had time to venture over there yet, but that is not necessary
since I have already experienced the magic of both Disneyland and Disney
World.
Because I am a Chemistry/Biology double-major and plan to attend medical
school after I have graduated from college, my school load is heavy.
My tough classes include Chemistry 2, Quantitative Analysis, and Calculus
2, but since I am definitely left-brained, math and science are easy for
me. However, easiness does not mean any less work for me. At
any time of the day you will find me studying, unless I am eating, sleeping,
or attending class. Around midnight when my roommates are in bed,
you will often find me at my computer, chatting on ICQ
or mIRC
and working on my web pages.
UPDATE:
My first year at college is almost
over! I am both thrilled and extremely sad at the same time.
This year has been one long learning experience. I have learned more
this year than the rest of my life combined. Or at least it sure
feels like it! I have grown up a lot, although I am still a kid at
heart and will always be such. I have learned what true friendship
is, with my earthly friends and my heavenly Father who is not only my best
friend but my Father figure. He's always here for me when I feel
alone, which can be quite often for me. I have learned that life
is very important, even to me. My life is worth something, if not
to me, it's worth all the stars in the sky to God. He cares for me!
How incomprehensible! It's a huge step for me to realize this, because
not long ago I didn't think anyone could ever care for me. I had
become very apathetic about life. Now I realize the importance of
everything, even my own self-worth. Besides learning so much about
life, I have learned a lot of academic things. I don't have a favorite
class because all my science classes intertwine. I just like them
all. In fact, I love them. The things I am learning about how
the minute things in our universe work are so awesome. What a marvelous
God we have! Working in the lab is one of my favorite things to do,
even though it can be tough like this past week when I ended up spending
around 21 hours in lab. My friends ask me what kind of life I can
have with classes like that. I simply tell them that my life would
not be my life if I didn't do what I love. Because I enjoy research
so much, I have decided to become a research doctor. Most likely
I will try to get my P.H. degree while in the middle of medical school.
We'll see how that works out since I have been very undecisive lately because
of stress. However, all the hard work has paid off since I received
the Freshman Chemistry Student of the Year award, a CRC Handbook of Chemistry
and Physics. It's an enormous reference book that someday I hope
to put to good use! Enough about that. . . I just got back from our
last concert. It was amazing. I have always been musically
inclined, but ever since I decided to go for the science major, my music
has had to be set aside, something I greatly regret. Joining the
Concert Choir here at SCC has been wonderful. I love every minute
of it. I was in a fun choir in high school, but this is so much more
to me. Not only do we sing, but we minister and worship with our
singing, something I love doing. I have gotten much more into worship
and could spend every minute of the day worshipping God! Someday
when I am in heaven, that's exactly what I will be doing! It is possible
to do it here on earth though. We can worship Him through everything
we do, simply by always keeping our eyes on Him and allowing our lives
to be thank offering to him. He has saved me from myself and for
that I am thankful beyond comprehension. Only God understands the
depths to which I sunk and from which he saved me. I pray that He
hold me close and that I never fall again.
Thank you for reading what I have shared from my heart. I hope something has touched you or inspired you in some way. Please enjoy the rest of my page, and don't forget to check the links at the bottom that lead to my two other pages. I'm sure you'll find something to interest you.
This summer I will probably get around
to updating my friend summaries and adding new names to the list.
Right now I have only friends from home on it. I have made so many
friends here at SCC, they definitely deserve to be added!
My friends are a very important part of my life. It's great that even though I am a long way away from them, I can still communicate with them through my Internet personality.
The
Kitty: My best friend.
We met in 8th grade, and after school we would go to her house and play
cards. That was a long time ago! We now have much cooler things
to do together, such as homework (huh?), discussions on any topic, homemade
meals, and planning projects. Planning is what we do best.
Not to say it ever goes to completion, but ideas are fun to play with.
Often our planned projects are web pages, such as one we were going to
put together for our high school, and another was a 'Choose-Your-Own-Adventure'
type. It is bothersome to not finish something, but half the fun
is in the planning. I really miss hanging with her, but I am glad
that we can easily keep in touch by Internet. It makes being apart
a little less hard.
On a personal note:
Hey girl, thanks to you I finally have a web site! Of course, yours
will always be better than mine, but hey, I tried! ;)
presonic:
This guy is cool. There
are many things he is good at. He plays soccer, just like me, and
he even coaches his own team! He's also very good with computers
and works for the school district. Plus he owns his own computer
business: Corebit.com.
On a personal note:
Heya, keep up the good work and don't stress!
Fat_Mike:
David's a guitarist in the band
The Cause and if you ever get a chance to hear them, take it. They're
great. David's a great listener and is always willing to help.
And he gets these strange urges to run to McDonald's. . .
On a personal note:
Hey you! Stop playing your guitar so I can talk to you! j/k
Xanthina: My punny friend!
She always makes me laugh. Sometimes her puns are stupid, but most
puns are and that is what makes them so darn hilarious. She is also
a very smart gal and we often did homework together. We also run
together, go on hikes, and get together with the rest of the gals!
On a personal note:
Stop studying! Just kidding, but you will definitely be ready for college
with all the great work you are doing. I miss you, girl. E-mail
me soon!
Hale_Yeah:
Hale is responsible for my addiction to mIRC. (Just kidding!)
This came about by talking about anything but math in Calculus class.
Who says school isn't for socializing? High school that is...
Now Hale has his own girl, and she is a very cool person. Her and
I were on the JDHS soccer team together last year. She's a kick-ass
goalie! Hale plays on the men's soccer team, a non-stop player.
He keeps going, and going, and going... Hale's great at detailed descriptions
of soccer plays, he plays golf, and he has whales in his backyard.
He's also a computer genius: bought a $350 dollar computer and fixed
it up with WinNT and all that.
On a personal note:
Personal note? I don't want to get personal with you. Umm...never
mind. Hey, take good care of that girl of yours, okay!
NinjaDogg:
A very quiet guy except when with the rest of the guys. Quiet is
good; that is how I am. I've known the Ninja for a couple years.
He's Ninja Master and knows 200 ways to kill a person with his pinky.
I think he should teach me some, especially now that I'm in Taekwondo.
On a personal note:
Pimpdogg: Brad is a great
guy to talk to. He has a strange sense of humor but can always make
me laugh. Note that this is one thing all my friends can do.
Laughter IS the best medicine. Whenever I'm upset, he doesn't
care if I bitch at him, he takes it all in hand.
On a personal note:
MadVinnie: He's not mad,
but he's got mad running skillz. He and Xanthe both run on the JDHS
team and that totally kicks. Running is the best!
